Sok Kwu Wan from the south (ie from the Family Trail linking this village with Yung Shue
Wan).
FARM
HERBOLAND
Nestled in the leafy fringes of Hung Shing Yeh beach is Herboland, the first organic herb
farm in the territory. Stroll past fragrant bushes of rosemary and verbena, or choose from
more than 40 types of herbal tea in the farm's blissful tea garden.

LAMMA WINDS
Standing in elegant contrast to that carbon-dioxide-belching, coal-fired power station,
Lamma's giant wind turbine, dramatically positioned atop the ridge just southeast of Tai
Peng old village, makes a stirring sight (although in reality it is something of a white ele-
phant generating far less power than was hoped for). There's a small
exhibition centre
on
wind power, but there's not much else to do here but admire its feathered blades scything
the breeze.
To reach it, follow the paths from Yung Shue Wan up to Tai Peng old village and turn
right once you hit the concrete roadway linking the power station with Pak Kok.
BEACH
TUNG O WAN
Long coveted by developers as a prime location for new condos and marina facilities, un-
spoiled Tung O Wan is still holding out against the might of the property dollar thanks to the
combined resistance of local residents and environmentalists from other shores. Ringed by a
long sandy beach, this small and secluded bay makes a rewarding detour while walking to
Sok Kwu Wan from Yung Shue Wan or from Sok Kwu Wan itself.
Just before the Tin Hau Temple at the entrance to Sok Kwu Wan, follow the signposted
path to the right southward, up and over the hill to the tiny village of Tung O. The walk
takes about 30 minutes over a rugged landscape, and the first half is a fairly strenuous climb
up steps and along a path.
