In-Depth Information
The northern end of Sai Kung Peninsula boasts several rewarding hikes that will take you
through some of the most pristine scenery in Hong Kong. The breathtaking 12km Tai Long
Wan Hiking Trail, which starts from the end of Sai Wan Rd and passes through beautiful
coves like Sai Wan, Tai Long Wan and Chek Keng, is a perennially popular option. On
weekdays you're likely to have the trail to yourself. The walk takes five to six hours.
Take the village bus 29R at Chan Man Rd (the stop is in front of McDonald's), get off at
the last stop (Sai Wan Ting) and start the hike there. Departures are more frequent on
Sundays and public holidays. A taxi ride will be under HK$100. The trail ends at Pak Tam
Au, from where you can catch a minibus back to Sai Kung Town.
