This gleaming, beeping warren of tiny shops is a safe bet for anything digital and electronic.
DEPARTMENT STORE
CHINA GOODS CENTRE
This very local Chinese department store has everything from ginseng to silk baby slippers
to acupuncture models to calligraphy brushes. Crowded, dusty and entirely non-English, it's
a fun place to poke around for gifts and souvenirs without the hassle of bargaining.
CLOTHING, HOUSEWARES
MUJI

The Hong Kong flagship of the cult-hit Japanese brand, this two-storey Muji is chock full of
charmingly designed, neutral-toned clothing, housewares, beauty products and toys. The
section of Japanese snacks like sour plum candy and animal-shaped seaweed crackers is ir-
resistible.
FOOD
PAPABUBBLE
11am-10pm; Tin Hau, exit B)
This Spanish artisan candy company's Hong Kong outpost sells unique-to-here flavours like
lemon tea and durian, featuring local designs like Chinese zodiac animals and the character
for 'double happiness'. Great gifts. Kids will love watching the hot sugar being pulled be-
