Dickens has been popular with expats and locals for decades. Designed to resemble a British
pub, it has a longer beer list that includes rare selections like Black Sheep Ale, and im-
proved modern UK pub grub. The big-screen sports coverage is still there, and so is the still-
popular curry buffet at lunch.

In the up-and-coming Tai Hang neighbourhood, this low-key neighbourhood bar is the kind
of place where everybody knows your name (or they would, if you lived in Tai Hang) and
your dog is welcome to snooze at your feet while you down a pint of Belgian ale.

A chill, American-style bar overlooking the South China Athletics Association's golf driv-
ing range, Inn Side Out has a good beer selection, plenty of classic bar snacks, and free pea-
nuts to shell and toss on the floor. A 15-minute stroll south of Causeway Bay.

This new bar inside a new business hotel has a lounge with illuminated floors, and an open
deck which maximises the impact of the superb East Island views - silvery high-rises on
one side and the old Kai Tak airport runway on the other. On a clear night, it's a stunning
backdrop to your rendezvous, so understandably, tables fill up fast. Go at 6pm.
