Set in the lush environs of Hong Kong Park, Lock Cha offers a dozen teas and 20 varieties
of tiny but tasty vegetarian dim sum in a replica of an ancient scholar's study. On most
Sunday afternoons (4pm to 6pm), there are Chinese music performances or tea talks for
HK$100 per person (see website for details). Do reserve a seat. The music is popular; the
tea shop is dainty.

This basic stall is one of your best bets for Cantonese barbecue - succulent slivers of barbe-
cued pork, goose, chicken and liver over freshly steamed rice. The menu is simply cards
stuck on the wall. Just see what your neighbours are having and point.

Decorated like a seaside town in Brittany, this quaint 20-seat creperie whips out sumptuous
galettes and airy crêpes, which are best savoured with some imported cider served in bowls.
If you fancy French andouille sausage, La Creperie is one of the only places in town where
you'll find that pungent delicacy.

Chai, exit A4)
So you're walking through Wan Chai and you smell something…wait, is there a horse stable
nearby? Nope, that's just the manure-like stench of stinky tofu, a paradigm case of 'tastes
better than it smells'. This popular street stall (no English sign) serves the beloved snack
Hong Kong-style, which means deep-fried with hot chilli sauce.
