This delightful museum not only has over 4,500 fans in its specialist collection, it
also has a small tearoom overlooking the fan-shaped parterre in the garden. The ro-
mantic trompe l'oeil mural on the orangery walls is the perfect surrounding for a very
reasonably priced afternoon tea. This comes complete with scones, clotted cream
and jam, freshly baked cakes and a pot of tea or coffee. It is hard to know how to
enhance this charming setting, except by inviting your most appreciative friends for
a very civilised afternoon treat.
