13.2.4.5 Refine Cutover and Production Support Plan
The objective of this task is to refine the cutover and support plan devised during the Realization
Phase.
In ASAP, this task is the fifth important milestone of the project.
13.2.4.5.1 Prepare Detailed Cutover Plan
The purpose of this activity is to ascertain the readiness of the system and the company to go into
production. As pointed out earlier in this topic, SAP implementation does not have any phase
analogous to the traditional phase of parallel runs . Therefore, it is very important to confirm the
readiness of the SAP system to go live not only in terms of the readiness of the SAP system and
system administration but also in terms of readiness for timely conversion and uploading of data
into the SAP system:
1. Compile Conversion Checklist.
2. Determine Production Readiness.
3. Obtain Approval for Cutover.

This task targets to refine the production support plan prepared during the Realization Phase in
terms of processes and procedures as well as roles and responsibilities of the personnel envisaged
to man the help desk:
1. Define Help Desk Procedures.
2. Establish Help Desk Facility.
3. Organize Help Desk Resources and Staff.
