This quality check verifies that the final configuration of the R/3 system meets the business
requirements specified in the Business Blueprint.
13.2.3.13 Sign-Off Realization Phase
This task is concerned with obtaining the final sign-off from the project management and approval
to proceed to the next phase.
The sign-off on the Realization Phase signals the end of the third phase of the ASAP methodol-
ogy that is also the development and testing phase of the SAP project.
13.2.4 Final Preparation
This phase is aimed at readying the system and the company for the SAP implementation. It
consolidates all of the activities of the previous phases to be ready for Go-Live phase including
end-user training, system testing, stabilizing systems management, and cutover activities. Any
exception and out of turn situations are also addressed and resolved.
The conversion and interface programs are all checked, volume and stress tests are performed,
and user acceptance tests are conducted. This is followed with the migration of the data to the new
system. The super users under the supervision of the SAP team members conduct end-user train-
ing. This phase also strategizes for the next phase including routine periodic uploading of data from
non-SAP systems, internal audit procedures, and organization of the help desk support activity.
13.2.4.1 Project Management Final Preparation Phase
The project management task is similar to that for the other phases. The objective is to maintain
the momentum as well as focus of the effort throughout the company on completing the remain-
ing phases of the project as per schedule. It also concerns itself with maintaining the motivational
level within the organization especially among the end users who are envisaged to play critical role
during the cutover phase and, especially, in the post-implementation phase:
1. Review Final Preparation Phase.
2. Conduct Project Team Status Meetings.
3. Conduct Steering Committee Meetings.
4. Continue Team Building Activity.
13.2.4.2 Continuing the Organization Change Management Process
As seen in the earlier phases, this task deals with a series of change processes that facilitate the
change team to diagnose and manage change issues to optimize organizational processes for sus-
taining the momentum required by the ASAP methodology right through to the end of the project.
This task continues with the full array of processes like risk assessment, sponsorship strategy,
strategy for communications, skills development, and knowledge transfer as well as the orga-
nizational optimization process that were initiated in the Business Blueprint phase. There is an
