13.2.3.8 Establish Authorization Concept
The authorization concepts define the various functions that can be performed by users in differ-
ent organizational units. The authorization concept maintains a balance between managing access
security and assigning privileges to perform jobs on the system as well as the effort expended for
administrating this system itself. The aim of this task is to establish an authorization concept or
framework that satisfies all these requirements.
In the Business Blueprint, the responsibility of various processes and functions is defined.
These responsibility definitions are used for establishing the authorization concept or framework.
SAP provides The System Authorizations Made Easy Guide as reference for helping with implement-
ing and validating this framework:
1. Compile Authorization Concept-Detailed Design.
2. Management of the Authorization Environment.
3. Validate Authorization Concept.
13.2.3.9 Establish Archiving Management
This task deals with establishing and creating an archival management system. Data that are not
needed online in the system should be removed from the system. Large data not only make data-
base administration difficult but also affect performance:
1. Design the Archiving Management system: Archiving system aims at maintaining the bal-
ance between an increase in data volume because of the daily transaction and processing,
and, a reduction in the data volume because of archiving to ensure optimal performance.
The business process owners assist in fine-tuning the archiving cycle for a company.
2. Prepare Archiving Procedures.

4. Validate Archiving Procedures.
13.2.3.10 Conduct Final Integration Test
The purpose of this task is to plan and execute the final integration test. It simulates, in the
Quality system, the live operations for functional verification of the productive system:
1. Define Scope of Integration Test.
The scope of the test is based on the process design for the business areas and the correspond-
ing business areas defined in the Business Blueprint. Like the Final configuration and confir-
mation tasks, the final integration test is also process oriented. The plan includes the following:

A test scenario (or Process Group) corresponds to a complete business or an end-to-end
scenario. It can be subdivided into test processes that make it easier to confirm the complete
scenario in incremental steps. A business case includes the critical information flow, associ-
ated conditions, and exceptions. This is handled in manner similar to the approach adopted
for Final Scope Configuration and Confirmation.
