13.2.3.5 Baseline Configuration and Confirmation
The Business Process Master List (BPML) is the SAP system representation of the total scope of
the implementation project. The configuration effort is divided into two parts: Baseline and Final
coniguration.
This task relates to the configuration and confirmation of the settings for the Baseline scope.
The Baseline scope includes those scenarios, processes, and functions that are priority require-
ments of the company. The remaining 20% scenarios and processes are to be considered during
the Final Configuration and Confirmation.
ASAP recommends that a company should initially consider processes for the baseline con-
figuration that can be configured without modifying the system.
This involves the following subtasks:
1. Revise the Baseline Scope document prepared during the Business Blueprint phase.
2. Create a baseline configuration plan for the Baseline by doing the following:
Choose Business Process Master List (BPML) and select the Baseline worksheet.
Add global settings in the beginning of the BPML.
Add configuration tasks for organizational structure after the global settings.
Enter the planned schedule date in the Plan subcolumn within Configuration .
Add sequencing information for dependent processes; this can be done by entering a case
number and a sequence number to a group of related processes, in the subcolumns of
Configuration: Case and Sequence No.
Note : By clicking the View cell under the Configuration column sorts the processes in the
order of case number/sequence no.
Save this as the Baseline Configuration Plan document MS Excel workbook.
3. Create test cases that are prepared by doing the following:
Choose the Baseline Configuration Plan document and select the Baseline worksheet
modified by (2) earlier.
This includes the default test cases you can adopt for the project.
