4. Business Process Master List (BPML).
The objective of this task is to identify the detailed scope that should be implemented during the
Realization phase. The Business Process Master List (BPML) is the R/3 system representation of
the total scope of the implementation project. The configuration effort is divided into two parts:
Baseline and Final configuration.
ASAP recommends that the Baseline Scope should aim to cover about 80% of the company's
requirements. The Baseline scope includes those scenarios, processes, and functions that are prior-
ity requirements of the company. All scenarios and business processes that are not included in the
Baseline Scope are handled during the Final configuration. To make the final configuration effort
easier, ASAP recommends the formation of a series of configuration cycles consisting of a selected
set of business processes depending on the degree of their importance.
In Q&Adb, for any business process, on selecting the Business Process Transactions, the asso-
ciated transactions for this particular business process are displayed. One or more of the eight
columns displayed are selected for indicating inclusion in the configuring and integration cycles
used during the Realization Phase. The eight column indicators are
SC—In scope
BL—Included in Baseline configuration
C1—Included in Configuration Cycle 1
C2—Included in Configuration Cycle 2
C3—Included in Configuration Cycle 3
C4—Included in Configuration Cycle 4
L1—Included in Integration Cycle 1
L2—Included in Integration Cycle 2
To generate BPML, go to Questions & Answers database (Q&Adb), go to Report , and select BP
Master List , and then choose Generate .
In the BPML, Links column gives access to the Customer Input template for that process as
well as to the corresponding Business Process Procedure documents. The BPML also contains the
information collected for each of the Business Process Transactions described earlier, or it can be
entered in the BPML itself.
13.2.2.5.3 Review and Approve Business Blueprint
In ASAP, this task is the second important milestone of the project.
