he CPO performs the following functions:
Provide supervision of the entire project.
Be responsible for milestone deliverables and project delays.
Approve and control the project scope and implementation strategy.
Prepare and get approval for the staing plan, including the pilot site and the rollout sites.
Prepare and get approval for the training plan of the project from the lead super users and
end users at various stages of the project.
Be responsible to get the relevant business users' time and attention at all relevant stages of
the project.
Accept deliverables and give sign-offs.
Resolve the issues raised in business process inalization and standardization.
Help resolve issues, if any, with the implementation partner, coordinate on commercial mat-
ters, and approve payments on completed milestones.
Resolve administrative issues faced by consultants from time to time.
Provide infrastructural support such as Hardware, software, Network, external software,
oice space, communication lines, and Online Service System (OSS).
Arrange steering and executive committee meetings and the decisions/clearances required
from the committees.
Provide guidance to SAP and its implementation partner on the company's speciic business
requirements.
Provide all data for loading from the relevant business departments.
he CPO also guides the deinition and maintenance of the project's Implementation Guide
(IMG) for his or her company as a whole.
12.8.2 Site Project Managers
he site project managers (SPMs) are responsible for the SAP implementation at various sites and
work under the direct guidance of the CPO. hey should be part of the SAP project team for the
pilot site from the beginning. his will give them enough exposure and experience on how to
handle the implementation at their own respective sites later.
The responsibilities of an SPM include the following:
Supervise the entire project at their sites.
Be responsible for milestone deliverables and project delays.
Assemble the manpower and resources according to the staffing plan for the SAP project.
Execute the training plan for the site, including training for the Functional and Technical
team members, Super Users, and end users at various stages of the project.
Be responsible to get the relevant site business users' attention at all relevant stages of the
project.
Accept deliverables and give sign-offs.
Resolve administrative issues faced by consultants from time to time.
Ensure infrastructural support (such as H/W, S/W, external software, office space, commu-
nication lines, and OSS) for the SAP project.
Provide all data for loading from the relevant business departments.
The SPM is also responsible for maintaining the site project's IMG for their respective sites.
