• From The Rum House, at Magazine and Ninth Street, walk another 10
blocks to Jackson Avenue. Along this stretch, you'll pass Pippen Lane, an up-
scale children's clothing store owned by Anna Beth Goodman, wife of actor
John Goodman; NOLA Couture, where you can buy New Orleans-themed
neckties; and Sake Café Uptown, where sushi rolls include the Fire Roll, the
Po Boy Roll, and the Jazz Roll.
During this stretch, you'll also pass through one of Magazine's few residen-
tial sections, though many homes have been converted into law offices and
other commercial establishments. Amid the homes is Tracey's, the neighbor-
hood's other Irish bar. Just a block from Parasol's, Tracey's has an equally
yummy roast beef po'boy, along with 20 televisions for patrons to enjoy their
favorite local sports teams. Other spots worth stopping at for a bite to eat are
Stein's Deli and District: Donuts Sliders Brew, on the opposite side of
Magazine just off Jackson. Any of the flags catch your eye on route? Stop in
at the colorful Brad and Dellwen Flag Party, at the corner of Magazine and
Jackson, and you may just find a match.
