2043 O. C. Haley is one of the newest additions to the street: Charlie Boy, a
high-end men's consignment store.

Cross O. C. Haley at Josephine. Turn left on O. C. Haley and continue walk-
ing. On your right, the Franz Building (2016 O. C. Haley) houses the Good
Work Network, a nonprofit that helps start and grow minority- and women-
owned businesses; the Trafigura Work and Learn Center, a youth-employ-
ment program comprising several youth-run businesses; and the Southeast
Louisiana Women's Business Center.

At the corner of O. C. Haley and St. Andrew Street is the future home of
Roux Carré, an outdoor food court and gathering place which, when com-
pleted in 2015, will celebrate African American, Caribbean, and Latin Amer-
ican cultures. A project of Good Work Network, the space will feature six
food-vendor stalls; a community kitchen; outdoor seating; and staging areas
for performances, food demonstrations, and arts markets. Vendors will in-
clude chef Linda Green, “The Ya-Ka-Mein Lady,” a New Orleans institution
known for
ya-ka-mein—
a noodle, meat, and hard-boiled-egg concoction
that's popular at local fairs and festivals (and reputed to be a hangover
cure).

Turn right on Felicity Street, past the future restaurant of Chef Adolfo Gar-
cia, whose other establishments include High Hat Cafe and Ancora Pizzeria
on Freret Street. Walk three blocks back to the starting point on St. Charles
Avenue. Along the way, you'll pass The Bank Architectural Antiques (1824
Felicity), which specializes in antique building materials such as doors, man-
tels, and period hardware.
