Thumb modeling
14. Extrude the thumb shape from the row of polygons, as shown in Figure 2.21.
15. Now go to the top of the body and extrude a neck from the center of the mass. At
the top of the neck, press E to extrude again, and then press Esc before moving the
extruded polygons anywhere. Press S to scale this extrusion up. It will expand out-
ward and form the basis of a head. Extrude up once from this to create a basic head
form. You now have a simple 3D character, as shown in Figure 2.22.
In the next chapter, “Modeling the Character,” you will begin modeling your zombie
character. Before you reach this stage, however, there are some useful techniques that can
make your modeling work easier.
