Preparing for Color Map Painting
It's time to create your own color map. Before you begin painting away, however, you will
want to set up your file.
Fortunately, you already have the pieces necessary for setting up your digital paint-
ing. You have the UV layout to use as a painting template and your normal map to use as
a guide. By doing your sculpting first, you have given yourself a good guide to the detail
you wish to put onto the 3D model and should be able to avoid many of the issues com-
mon in trying to line up UV islands with one another.
