Point B was calculated earlier as 97.45. The start of contour 97 is the
distance H at 2.5 percent slope:
S = V / H
0.025 = 0.45 / H
H = 0.45 / 0.025
The distance between point B and the 97 contour is 18 feet.
In Figure 12.18-F contour 98 is located. The distance along the swale
centerline from contour 97 to contour 98 is:
S = V / H
0.025 = 1 / H
H = 1 / .025 = 40 feet
So each next lower contour is located a distance of 40 feet from the
next contour.
