The next step is to alter each contour along the route of the swale,
beginning with the 108, to meet the 20-foot interval A.
Where the designer wishes to retain surface water, to support a
wider diversity of plant species along the swale, a bioswale with inter-
mediate small retention ponds or depressions (B) may be created. The
depth and area of these depressions may vary, depending on the design-
er's intent: aesthetics or type of plant species desired.
