In the lawn area of Figures 11.13-A and 11.13-B, you can see how the
ground has been sculpted with gently rolling topography and a drainage
swale. The swale roughly bisects the lawn area, directing surface water
to a catch basin at the top of the image. From the catch basin it is carried
by underground pipes to a storm water system, in this case located to an
adjacent campus-wide storm drainage system
