tion is $5500, $7000 for immune disorder, and $7125 for pneumonia. However, for both conditions, the
peak increases to $9875. Clearly, then, a patient with both conditions utilizes more healthcare services
than a patient with just one of the two conditions. The outcomes here contrast significantly to those for
septicemia. Combined, these curves indicate the significant cost of septicemia followed by immune
disorder.
The next graphs (Figures 19 and 20) consider patients with septicemia or immune disorder or both.
Again, it appears that septicemia is the crucial condition; patients with both conditions do not require
