Note the similarity between Figures 27 and 28. The variables in the decision tree are in a similar order
to those in the Dmine regression. These two show that both procedures and diagnoses are important to
length of stay, with prolonged use of ventilation having the greatest contribution followed by the use of
a venous catheter, the patient's age, and the use of a blood transfusion.
