In-Depth Information
As you stroll Collioure's lanes, you'll occasionally see prints hanging on the walls. You're
on the “Chemin du Fauvisme,” where you'll find 20 copies of Derain's and Matisse's
works, inspired by their stays in Collioure in 1905. The

Collioure and the surrounding area produce well-respected wines, and many shops offer
informal tastings of the sweet Banyuls and Collioure reds and rosés. Try

Stone Windmill
Stone steps lead 10 minutes up behind Collioure's modern art museum to a 13th-century
windmill with good views that are positively peachy at sunset. Find the museum behind
Hôtel Triton, walk through its stony backyard, follow the paved path marked with yellow
dashes, and climb about 140 steps. Bring your own beverage.
