•HaveacanalsidelunchatoneofthesandwichkiosksorcafésintheGardens.Spend
theafternoontouringtheGardens,TrianonPalaces,andDomainedeMarie-Antoinette.On
weekends from April to October (and many Tuesdays), catch the Spectacles in the Gar-
dens. Stay for dinner in Versailles town (see recommended restaurants on here ), or head
back to Paris.
• To shorten your visit, skip the Trianon/Domaine, which takes an additional 1.5
hours to see and a 30-minute walk to reach (2 hours total).
• An alternate plan (for late risers) is to visit the uncrowded Trianon Palaces and Do-
maine de Marie-Antoinette first (opens at noon), then work your way back through the
Gardens to the Château, arriving after the crowds have died down (usually by 14:00). Try
tocoordinateyourarrivalsoyoucancatchtheshuttlebusfromtheVersaillesChâteauR.G.
train station to the stop near the Grand Trianon (described earlier).
