Driving
It's a pleasure to explore France by car, but you need to know the risks and rules.
Road Rules: Seat belts are mandatory for all, and children under age 10 must be in
the back seat. In city and town centers, traffic merging from the right (even from tiny side
streets) normally has the right-of-way (priorité à droite). So even when you're driving on
a major road, pay attention to cars merging from the right. In contrast, cars entering the
many suburban roundabouts must yield (cédez le passage). U-turns are illegal throughout
France, and you cannot turn right on red lights.
