Café du Palais is appreciated by older locals who don't mind paying a premium to
eat a meal or sip coffee wrapped in 1930s ambience. Reims' most venerable café-bistro
stands across from the Opéra (€34 menus, €20-30 plats, daily but closed for dinner Sun-

Reims Connections
Reims has two train stations—Reims-Centre and Champagne-Ardennes. Most trains to or
from Paris use Reims-Centre, while TGV trains traveling to or from points east (such as
Strasbourg or Colmar) use Champagne-Ardennes (5 miles from the center of Reims; fre-
quent connection by tramway to Reims-Centre Station). Trains that stop at Reims-Centre

From Reims-Centre Station by Train to: Paris' Gare de l'Est (via TGV: 12/day, 45
minutes; by local train: 2/day, 2 hours), Epernay (12/day, 30 minutes), Verdun (8/day, 2-5
hours, most with change in Châlons or Metz).
From Reims' Champagne-Ardennes Station by Train to: Paris' Gare de l'Est (via
TGV: 4/day, 45 minutes), Strasbourg (via TGV: 12/day, 2 hours), Colmar (via TGV: 10/
day, 3 hours, most change in Strasbourg).
Near Reims: Epernay
Champagne purists may want to visit Epernay, about 16 miles from Reims (and also well

Avenue de Champagne, the Rodeo Drive of grand Champagne houses.
Arrival in Epernay: Trains run frequently between Reims-Centre Station and Eper-
nay (12/day, 30 minutes). From the Epernay station, walk five minutes straight up Rue
