the reading room. In the onyx-laden entry hall, small marble mosaics celebrate different
fields of knowledge, and a chandelier hangs down like the sleek dress of a circa 1920s
flapper. Peek through the reading room door to admire the stained-glass windows of this
temple of thought. The gorgeous wood-paneled card-catalogue room takes older visitors
back to their childhoods. Go ahead, finger the laboriously created typewritten files, and
imagine the technology available back in 1928, the year the library was inaugurated.
