This lovely hike undulates for two hours above Chamonix Valley, with staggering views
of Mont Blanc and countless other peaks, glaciers, and wildflowers. There's just 370 feet
of difference in elevation between the La Flégère and Planpraz lift stations—so this hike,
though not without its ups and downs, is manageable (but still requires serious stamina
and appropriate shoes). The trail is a mix of dirt paths, ankle-twisting rocky sections, and
short stretches of service roads. You'll pass by winter lifts and walk through meadows and
