English Bookstore: Heidi's English Bookshop has a welcoming vibe and a great se-
lection of new and used books, with many guidebooks—including mine (Tue-Sat
9:00-19:00, Sun-Mon 11:00-18:00, 24 Rue Aubernon, tel. 04 93 34 74 11).
Laundry: There's a launderette at 19 Avenue du Grand Cavalier (daily, mobile 06 47 88
12 97).
Grocery Stores: Picnickers will appreciate L'Épicerie du Marché on Cours Masséna, up
the hill as you exit the Marché Provençal (daily until 23:00). L'Épicerie de la Place
has a smaller selection (daily until 22:00 in summer, until 21:00 off-season, where
Rue Sade meets Place Nationale). A large Monoprix is located next door to the TI on
Place Général de Gaulle (Mon-Sat 8:30-20:30, Sun 9:00-12:30).

Car Rental: The big-name agencies have offices in Antibes (all close Mon-Sat
12:00-14:00andalldaySun).Themostcentral are Avis (atthetrainstation,tel.0493

92 91 28 00). Europcar is about 1.5 miles northwest of town at 106 Route de Grasse
(tel. 04 93 34 79 79).
Boat Rental: You can motor your own seven-person yacht thanks to Antibes Bateaux
Services (€300/half-day, at the small fish market on the port, mobile 06 15 75 44 36,
www.antibesbateaux.com ) .
Airport Bus: Bus #250 runs from near the train station to Nice's airport (€9, 2/hour, 40
minutes; cross over the tracks on the pedestrian bridge—it's the last shelter to the
right, stop from the airport is labeled Vautrin, stop going to the airport is labeled
Passerelle ).
Getting Around Antibes
Though most sights and activities are walkable, buses are a great value in Antibes, allow-
ingonehouroftravelfor€1(one-wayorround-trip,unlimitedtransfers, www.envibus.fr ) .
Bus #2 provides access to the best beaches, the path to La Phare de la Garoupe, and the
Cap d'Antibes trail. It runs from the bus station down Boulevard Albert 1er, with stops
every few blocks (daily 7:00-19:00, every 40 minutes). Bus #14 is also useful, linking the
train station, bus station, old town, and Plage de la Salis. Pick up a schedule for return
times for these and other regional buses at the bus station (for more on buses, see “Arrival
in Antibes,” earlier).
