Nice's port is at the eastern edge of the town center, separated from the old town and best
beaches byCastle Hill. Cruise shipsdockat either endofthe mouth ofthis port: Terminal
1 totheeast(alongtheembankmentcalledQuaiduCommerce),or Terminal 2 tothewest
(along Quai Infernet). At both terminals, TI kiosks (under pointy white tents) are timed to
be open when cruises arrive.
A street called Place Ile de Beauté runs along the top of the port; here you'll find bus
stops (including stops for the bus to Villefranche-sur-Mer and Monaco) and easy access to
Place Garibaldi, where you can hop on Nice's tramway (which you can ride to the train
station).Fromeitherterminal,it'sabouta10-minutewalktothetopoftheport,oryoucan
ride the free shuttle bus (navette) .
Taxis at the terminals charge about €25-30 to points within Nice (for example, the
train station, or the Matisse or Chagall museums), €35-40 one-way to Villefranche-sur-
Mer, or €80-90 one-way to Monaco. Le Grand Tour Bus hop-on, hop-off bus circuit has
a stop at the top of the port (see “Tours in Nice,” earlier).
