CAMPGROUNDS
It's possible to traverse the trail's first section and return the same day; to get all the way
to Berg Lake and back, you'll need to stay in the backcountry overnight. Along the route
seven primitive campgrounds hold 75 campsites, including three campgrounds along the
lakeshore. Reservations for these sites can be made up to three months in advance by call-
ing the BC Parks' Discover Camping hotline (604/689-9025 or 800/689-9025); the book-
ing fee is $6.42 per night to a maximum of $19.26. Book early, because the quota fills
quickly. Upon arrival in the park, all overnight hikers must then check in at the visitors
center and pay a camping fee of $10 per person per night.
