Sheep River Falls
HIKING
Price's Camp
• Length: 5 kilometers/3.1 miles (1.5 hours) one-way
• Elevation gain: 50 meters/164 feet
• Rating: easy/moderate
• Trailhead: Sandy McNabb day-use area, Highway 546
Although the trail itself is easy, it requires fording the Sheep River, is reached through a
maze of cutlines and old logging roads, and can be muddy after rainfall. If all that hasn't
put you off, wade across the river upstream of Coal Creek to reach the trailhead. Head west
(to the right), following a grassy bench along the river, from which the trail enters a forest
of lodgepole pine. When the trail crosses March Creek, head 300 meters (0.2 mile) up the
north bank of the creek to this abandoned logging camp, a pleasant destination for a picnic
lunch.
