Wintergreen Golf & Country Club (403/949-3333), six kilometers (3.7 miles) north
of town from the west side of the Elbow River, is an immaculately manicured golf course
with water hazards on 14 of the 18 holes. Greens fees are $72 midweek and $95 on week-
ends, which includes use of an excellent practice facility.
Food
Bragg Creek Shopping Centre holds a wide variety of eateries as well as most services,
including a gas station, bakery, grocery store, and post office. Around the corner, at the
main intersection, is the Cinnamon Spoon (Bragg Creek Trading Post II, 403/949-4110,
6am-5pm daily; $5.50-9), with the best coffee in town, as well as pastries, cakes, smooth-
ies, and sandwiches made to order. Beyond Bragg Creek Shopping Centre, M Infusion
(23 Balsam Ave., 403/949-3898, 11am-10pm daily, $18-38) presents a menu of French and
Asian cooking styles. Favorites include lightly battered salmon with basil and curry sauce
and any of the Alberta beef dishes.
The Steak Pit (43 White Ave., 403/949-3633, from 11:30am daily, $22-36) has been a
longtime local favorite. The decor is early Canadian, yet realistic and elegant. The dining
