Step one in query creation — select a table.
Once a table has been selected, the fields available for query within the table are populated
into the various Combo Boxes within the GUI. (Notice also that the large red arrow pointing at
the table Combo Box disappears once a table has been selected.) The wildcard character “*” appears
at the top of the Fields Combo Box, allowing the user to return information related to all the fields
in the table. For example, the settings shown in Figure 7.15 will produce the following query:
Select * From Suppliers
If this query is tested, the entire contents of the Suppliers Table will be returned as shown in
Figure 7.16. Notice that the sample application first writes the actual query transmitted to Access
