Hiding and unhiding sheets in Excel.
Worksheets, like Workbooks, can also be hidden or shown. Regardless of their visibility, all
elements of a Worksheet can be accessed via Excel VBA code. To hide or unhide a Worksheet,
simply right click on any Worksheet tab and select H ide/Unhide Sheets as shown in Figure 3.2.
Selecting this option will bring up the dialog box shown in Figure 3.3.
To show the reader how to ascertain the workspace that exists within Excel at any given moment,
a sample application has been constructed that takes a “snapshot” of the Excel environment at any
given moment. This application can be run by selecting from the menu A DA->Chapter 3 -> S ystem
Snapshot. Doing so will bring up the GUI shown in Figure 3.4.
This application does the following. When the “Take System Snapshot” button is pressed for the
first time, the Excel environment is examined, and every visible and hidden Workbook is populated
