In-Depth Information
Secrets is just to the north of Kempt Tower is marked by a small car park and normally a
selection of surfers vans.
The Watersplash holds a special place in the hearts of Jersey's surfing communities and
on a warm summer evening it is a special place to sit and have a drink. There is plenty of
parking and one of the better surf breaks on the Island is located in front of the 'splash.
Le Port is opposite Jubilee Hill, the road, which runs down to the bay from St Peter. There
is plenty of parking although it can quickly fill up on summer weekends when there is a
good swell. There are no toilets but there is an ice cream van and it is not too far to walk to
the Watersplash, the Line Up or El Tico for refreshments. The swimming area monitored
by the beach guards is normally jus to the south of Le Port. Look for the flags and ensure
that you swim between them unless you have a surfboard.
St Ouen's seen on final approach into the airport.
Le Braye has a large car park, café and toilets. Just offshore is La Rocco Tower, which does
provide shelter at times from the largest of the waves. During the summer months there
is a swimming area, which is monitored by the lifeguards. As with other beaches around
the Island red and yellow flags mark the safe bathing area and swimmers should follow the
guidance.
There are a number of places in the bay where there are strong currents, which are normally
indicated by signs on the sea walls. Locations include the far north of the bay close to
L'Etacq plus around the slipway in front of Big Verns. Please follow the recommendations;
the signs are there for very good reasons.
