Many of the large international financial companies have premises in St Helier.
That is the situation, which exists to the present day. The finance industry is the dominant
pillar of the economy supported to a lesser degree by agriculture and tourism. For a while
there was a thriving Internet sales industry but apart from a few specialist companies that
has largely disappeared.
Jersey cows are famous the world over and can be seen all around the Island. Sheep have
made a welcome return to Jersey over the last few years.
