In-Depth Information
are normally several opportunities to take part in a guided walk through this unique coastal
landscape.
At times it is possible to see some of the offshore reefs, which make up the Bailiwick of
Jersey. In a clockwise direction from the northwest corner they are:
1. Pierres de Lecq or Paternosters. They are easily seen from Grosnez, Greve
de Lecq or Sorel. They have a remote and wild feel with just a few rocks
showing at high water. Access is impossible unless you have your own
boat and even then you are likely to have the reef to yourself, as there is
very limited ground for safe anchoring.
2. Les Dirouilles. Probably the least visited of the reefs by locals and the
smallest in area. They can be seen from some of the northern headlands
such as Tour de Rozel or Belle Hougue.
The Paternosters is just a rocky reef, whilst the Minquiers does have some small cottages.
For many The Ecrehous, below, are their favourite.
