In-Depth Information
Approximately 1.4 million passengers travel through the airport every year, with all the fa-
cilities that people expect in a modern airport including retail areas and refreshments plus
some areas with free Wi-Fi.
Upon arrival at the airport there are a number of options for onward travel. A number of
hire car companies have desks in the arrivals hall, whilst other companies, based off site,
can arrange to meet arriving passengers.
The number 15 bus operates frequently into St Helier. It would be necessary to change
buses at Liberation Station if you were staying outside of St Helier.
The third option is to use one of the taxis', which operate from the area. Visitors to the
Island are often surprised by the cost of a taxi but clearly they are convenient and cost ef-
fective if there are several of you sharing.

Weather Forecasts: Information about the weather on the Island is available from a num-
ber of sources, many people using a number of the Apps, which are available for phones
and similar devices. For accuracy though I always use the forecast from the Jersey Meteor-
ological Department, due to the fact that they are based at Jersey Airport they will be aware
of local conditions, with greater accuracy than any computer generated model.

Weddings
It is much easier to get married in Jersey than it used to be and so there is no need to travel
to distant shores, as used to be the case, to have an island wedding.
Applications for a wedding can now be made by post and once all of the postal arrange-
ments have been completed it is necessary to arrive in Jersey a minimum of 3 days before
the wedding in order to complete the formalities and to collect the wedding licence. Even
if you arrive in the island without completing the paperwork you can get married 10 days
after presenting all your documentation to the Superintendent Registrar, what better way to
complete your two week summer holiday in Jersey?
There is a wide range of venues throughout the Island, which are approved for civil cere-
monies. They include a number of hotels, castles including Mont Orgueil and Elizabeth
Castle, La Hougue Bie, Durrell Wildlife, Le Don Hilton (the White House), St Ouen's Man-
or, the Living Legend and Le Catel Fort. The Law doesn't allow for weddings to take place
in the open air, such as on the beach.
There is plenty of more information on the States of Jersey website and from Jersey Tour-
ism .
