If you had arrived in Jersey prior to March 1937, when the airport in St Peter opened, you
would most likely have landed on the beach at West Park, with flight schedules being de-
pendant upon the tide. How things have changed in the intervening period. Today the air-
port has a modern departures hall, opened in 1997, and an imposing control tower.
