The opening game of the 2014-15 season was a friendly match against Scottish team Ayr.
It saw a popular victory for the home side.
The Jersey Rugby Football Club, founded in 1879, is located in St Peter, on the Airport
Road and there is a great atmosphere on match days, with crowds of several thousand spec-
tators.
Squash:
There are courts available for hire at Les Quennevais Sports Centre (01534
490909), Fort Regent (01534 500200) and at the
Jersey Squash Club
(01534 735773).
Each year a squash festival, normally in the autumn, is held which attracts a number of vis-
iting players.
Swimming:
There are two swimming pools open to the general public; Aquasplash in St
Helier and Les Quennevais Sports Centre in St Brelade.
Tennis:
There are a number of options for tennis on the Island. Les Ormes in the west has
4 indoor plexicushion tennis courts, which are available for hire from £10 per hour. In ad-
dition there is the possibility of private coaching from experienced coaches. Open all year

The Caesarean Tennis Club is close to St Helier offering both indoor and outdoor courts.

Les Mielles Tennis Club is part of the excellent sporting facilities at Les Quennevais, in the
west of the Island. It has all weather, floodlit courts which are suitable for players of all
ages and abilities.
