Wild Swimming: This is the new challenging activity, which is gaining in popularity
across the country. Jersey has a long and successful tradition of open water swimming
through the achievements of the members of the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club but
wild swimming is attracting a new group of people into the water. Just be aware that tid-
al streams around the island run much faster than in many other places around the British
Isles.
The Club have regular training swims at St Catherine's but with knowledge of tidal flows
around the Island there are plenty of exciting areas to go. The ultimate challenge is the
non stop swim around Jersey, which was first achieved by Denize le Pennec in 1969, who
3 years earlier had become the first Jersey person to swim the English Channel.

Absolute Adventures : Probably the largest provider of activities on the Island. They are
based at St Brelade's Bay but offer a number of activities from a range of bays around
