In-Depth Information
6. St Aubins Bay is mainly a winter viewing location, particularly towards high water. A
selection of waders, Brent Geese, and the possibility of Grebes are some of the attractions
of St Aubin's Bay.
7. La Rocque and Grouville Bay. Similar species to At Aubin's although normally more
numerous with the possibility of encountering some of the less common species of gull.
8. Grouville Marsh was purchased by the National Trust for Jersey in 1979 and is the
second largest area of marshland on the Island. A large number of species have been re-
corded in this small area, partly because of the significant amount of bird ringing, which
takes place in the area.
9. St Catherines and La Coupe are great in the middle of winter if there is a bitterly cold
easterly wind blowing. Just remember to wrap up warmly, particularly at St Catherine's,
as it is a long walk back to the car. Divers, auks etc. can be seen from here with numerous
other species possible. Also keep an eye open for Bottle Nosed Dolphins, which are often
seen here.
