La Hougue Bie : This is one of Europe's finest passage graves; set in beautiful surround-
ings the museum tells the story of life in Jersey 6,000 years ago. A medieval chapel is
situated on top of the prehistoric mound and dolmen; it is possible to walk into chamber of
the passage grave. In addition on site there are geology and archaeology museums as well
as German bunker.
Recent developments include an exhibition on Ice Age Jersey, which is based on the recent
excavations at La Cotte de St Brelade, by archaeologists from the Institute of Archaeology
in London. Another focuses on the Jersey Hoard, approximately 70,000 Celtic coins were
unearthed on the Island in 2012, the largest Celtic coin collection ever found.
It is open from the end of March to the beginning of November from 10.00 to 17.00 daily.
The Jersey Pass is accepted at La Hougue Bie and Jersey Heritage members enjoy free
