There is also a branch library at Les Quennevais (attached to the school), which is open
Monday to Friday 14.00 to 17.30 and Saturday mornings 09.30 to 13.00.
Jersey Museum : Located in the heart of St Helier Jersey Museum is an ideal place to pass
a few hours, particularly during inclement weather. There are a range of exhibits, including
one on La Cotte de St Brelade and the mammoth hunters who lived there. Other exhibits
include archive footage of the early years of tourism, agriculture in Jersey, the Battle of
Jersey exhibition and Millais' portrait of the Jersey Lillie, Lillie Langtry.
Sadly the museum is normally closed during the first few months of the year. From ap-
proximately the end of March the opening hours are as follows:
Monday to Sunday 10.00 to 5.00
From the beginning of November until the end of December the hours are slightly reduced:
Monday to Sunday 10.00 to 4.00
Admission is free to members of Jersey Heritage although this is only really on option to
residents.
The Jersey Pass is accepted at the Museum
Jersey War Tunnels : Formerly known as the Underground Hospital these tunnels, which
are over a kilometre in length, were excavated by the Germans between 1941-44 using
forced slave labour. Today they hold a range of exhibits and audio-visual displays, depict-
ing the true story of the German Occupation.
There is a café and shop on site.
