9.5.5Non-linearStaticAnalysis:Push-overMethod
Due to the development in computing programs, the current engineering practice for
seismic analysis of buildings is moving away from simplified linear-elastic methods of
analysis towards a more complex non-linear-inelastic technique. The non-linear static
(push-over) analysis is a simple way to evaluate the inelastic ultimate capacity of
structures. In this method, the designed structure is subjected to incremental lateral
loads, using one or more predominant load patterns. Under incremental loads, various
