Sports Games
Another huge category of games, sports games, are, you guessed it,
games involving sports of any kind—bowling, wrestling, basketball,
football, racing, snowboarding, etc. Whatever the sport, chances are
pretty good that it's already been adapted to work on the interactive
screen. Keep in mind, the very i rst arcade game with sound, Pong , was
basically a sports title! The genre is largely derived from action games
but the most popular and played in this genre generally have a realistic

would result in dif erent audio ef ects
applied to the music soundtrack in
varying amounts.
Sports games can come in all shapes and sizes. Clockwise from top left: Madden
