Maze-Chase Games
Pac-Man is the best-known maze-chase game,
a game in which the player navigates the
character through a maze to avoid enemies.
It achieved mainstream popularity and
produced the i rst game character popular in
its own right. The follow-up, Ms Pac-Man, was
released one year after Namco's original Pac-
Man by the Bally/Midway Company, a famous
pinball game maker who had distributed the
original Pac-Man game in the US.
Ms. Pac-Man (Midway, 1982) was the successor to the
wildly popular Pac-Man game by Namco.

Donkey Kong (Nintendo, 1981) is a classic platform game.

In platform games, the player manipulates a character to jump or move
from platform to platform to advance through gameplay. Donkey Kong
(1981) is the classic example of a platform game.
