In-Depth Information
Nintendo Wii
In 2006, Nintendo released the Wii. The console was a huge hit, due to
its focus on motion controllers and interactive user experiences. The Wii
features a dedicated audio processor, 64 voices, 44.1 and 48KHz sample
rates, 16-bit resolution, and it uses 512MB of shared memory. Plus a speaker
in the hand controller! The newest addition to the Wii family is the Wii U.
Featuring a large touchscreen controller, it supports HD video output.
Audio-wise, the dedicated processor is still there, but beefed up a bit to
handle 64+ surround audio channels instead of stereo like the original Wii.
