Centrinho da Lagoa
The serene lagoon in the centre of the island, Lagoa da Conceição is very popular
among families and others who want to swim, canoe or windsurf. CENTRINHO DA
LAGOA (usually simply referred to as Lagoa), a bustling little town at the southern end
of the lagoon, is a very pleasant place to stay, with frequent bus services from here into
Florianópolis and to the east-coast beaches, and a post o ce (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm),
pharmacy, banks and supermarkets.
There are also numerous restaurants and bars on the main road through the town,
Avenida das Rendeiras , from Praça Pio XII near the bridge over the canal, to the main
strip of Rua Manoel Severino de Oliveira . The highway along the southern lagoon from
here is also lined with restaurants, bars and outfits offering “Stand Up” (paddleboarding)
for R$15. Former number one tennis player Gustavo Kuerten was born in Floripa and
now lives in Lagoa, teaching and playing tennis - you might see him around town.

EATING AND DRINKING
Lagoa is one of the liveliest nightspots on the island during the summer and at weekends throughout the year, with
restaurants always crowded and people overflowing into the street from the bars until the small hours of the morning.
