It's easy to arrange hikes inland from Ubatuba to the
Parque Estadual Serra do Mar
, a large
state nature reserve north of Ubatuba that is divided into several sections, or “nuclei”, and
stretches in a band running inland alongside more than half of the state's coastline.

The rodoviária is on Rua Thomaz Gallardo in the
town centre. Buses serve Paraty (4 daily; 1hr 30min), Rio
(2 daily; 5hr) and São Paulo (8 daily; 3hr 30min). For São
Sebastião, change at Caraguatatuba. For Campos do
Jordão, change at Taubaté.
